Hello! I’m Amy Piggott. I’m a Collaborative Family Lawyer here at Brisbane Family Law Centre.
I joined the BFLC team in May 2024 after working exclusively in the area of family law since I became a lawyer in 2013. After 10 years of practice, helping to guide clients to navigate what is typically one of the most stressful times of their lives, I was passionate about finding a better way assist family’s. Here at BFLC, the focus is on providing legal solutions in a kind and considered manner with the client’s goals at the forefront.
I grew up in rural New South Wales and have an open and friendly approach to assisting clients. I hold a Bachelor of Law with Honours and a Bachelor of Psychological Science.
As a mother, I appreciate the bonds that exist within families and how tricky this can be when people ultimately decide to separate. I believe it is extremely important to seek to maintain those bonds and relationships after separation and strive to find a resolution for client’s that prioritise those relationships.
As a wife and mother to three beautiful children and a fur baby, my “spare time” is somewhat limited! I do enjoy baking, sewing and crafting when I have the opportunity. I also get much enjoyment from planning “Pinterest inspired” themed birthday parties for my children, but I have to admit this sometimes causes me more stress than being a family lawyer!
