André Ah Loy

Hi, I’m André, a Legal Assistant at Brisbane Family Law Centre.

I joined the team in July 2026 while studying a Bachelor of Laws. My interest in law began back in high school, and I’m grateful to be building my career in a practice that shares my belief that legal support should always be centred around people. Being part of a collaborative team that focuses on helping families find practical, client-focused resolutions has only strengthened my passion for this work.

I enjoy knowing that even the small things I do can help make someone’s experience a little easier. Whether I’m preparing documents, managing information or supporting our legal team behind the scenes, I take pride in being thorough and making sure every detail is carefully looked after. Families trust us with some of the most important and personal parts of their lives, and I believe that care should be reflected in everything we do.

Outside the office, you’ll usually find me on a squash or tennis court (with varying levels of success!), trying a new recipe in the kitchen or getting lost in a good book.

I am the most excited when it comes to puzzles and problems solving – from Sudoku to small repairs and projects. Given enough time, I can put my mind to anything. 

If I weren’t studying to be a lawyer, I would love to be a pilot.
